As Brazil gears up for new elections, with occasions such as the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games planned as the backdrop for a thriving country, appropriate national development strategies are required.
Brazilian society is becoming increasingly eager to align the nation’s development guidelines with those of the major economies, grounded on the sustainable production of innovative goods, processes and services, frequently deriving from the transformation of knowledge or expertise or know-how.
Whether attempting to foster closer integration among value chain links, or pursuing the quest for promising segments that are emerging from the introduction of new fields of science and technology and/or the ceaseless search for solutions to the problems of humankind, global dynamics are paced to the vibrant cycle of innovation.
Under the keynote topic of “Exploring innovative fields, developing sustainable enterprises”, the XX Brazilian National Science Parks and Business Incubators Seminar and the XVIII ANPROTEC Workshop offer a broad-ranging and objective view of the important role that Science Parks and Incubators will continue to play, underpinning the development of Brazil.
Hosted by the Brazilian Association of Science Parks and Business Incubators (ANPROTEC) in partnership with the Brazilian Service of Support for Micro and Small Enterprises (SEBRAE), this event will be held in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul State, from September 20 - 24 2010 with the local organization handled by the Campo Grande City Council, supported by the Mato Grosso do Sul State Network Promoting Innovative Enterprises (Rede Sul-Matogrossense de Entidades Promotoras de Empreendimentos Inovadores - RedeMS).
Its catalytic character will boost efficiency among Science Parks, Incubators and the agents administering or in charge of regional economic growth. Progress in interacting with social, economic, political and territorial dynamics will ratify the potential of these mechanisms to contribute to the nation’s development on sustainable bases.
During this Seminar, mini-courses will be held together with lectures and discussion sessions on how innovative entrepreneurship can and must spur the economic and social development of Brazil, grounded on the sustainable use of biodiversity and the responsible use of new market segments, while striving to lessen regional inequalities.
